We can certainly handle the job for you, but when you want to tackle it yourself, we want to make sure you are prepared with all the best tools you’ll need to make your car sparkle. If you choose to do it yourself, here’s a list of the best tools for the job.

Buckets & Water – You’ll need more than just a single bucket. You’ll want to make sure you have different buckets available for both clean and dirty water. You don’t want to use the same nasty, dirty water over and over again while you clean your car. Have at least one bucket for clean rinse water and another bucket for dirty water.

Vacuum – You’ll need a decent vacuum to clean off the seats and floors of your vehicle. Use the vacuum’s crevice tool to clean in between the seats and center console. You can even use it in the in the back window.

Towels, Sponges & Rags – You’ll need various towels and rags of various sizes for the different cleaning products you’ll use. You don’t want to use the same towel that you used on the dashboard with one cleaning agent on the windshield with glass cleaner. Once a rag or towel becomes too dirty, swap it out for a clean one. For the outside of your vehicle, the best thing to use is a microfiber wash mitt. The rules for sponges are the same. You just have to make sure that the sponge in not abrasive.

Small Brushes – Small brushes can be useful when trying to clean the small crevices of your vehicle’s interior. The small bristles can get to those pesky places where dirt and crumbs just seem to collect the most.

Cotton Swabs – Cotton Swabs are good for getting into the corners and small spaces that need to be cleaned. They are soft and won’t harm your vehicle’s paint with scratches. Cotton swabs can get into the tight spaces like between radio knobs, dashboard buttons and in the air vents. They are also really good to use when you’re cleaning a motorcycle!

Canned Air – A can of compressed air helps to remove those pesky crumbs that just don’t seems to budge. Much like how it’s used with a computer keyboard, the compressed air uses bursts of air to remove the gunk a regular rag can’t reach.
