Dog on the Go: Keeping Your Car Clean!

dogAt Myrtle Beach Detailing, we know our pets are members of our families. There’s certainly no denying that! We also know many of our customers feel the very same way. That’s one reason we have compiled a list of things you can do to keep your vehicle clean while still letting Fido and Fluffy feel the wind in their fur! Keep your dog happy, and your passengers too!

dogRemoving Dog Fur

This is one of the most obvious signs that your dog loves to ride in the car! Unfortunately,  removing fur is a rather time consuming process. One of the best ways to remove pet fur is to use a vacuum. It might take a few times going over the same spot, but it’s definitely a good way to get rid of the fur. For light jobs, you might be able to get away with a lint roller. You can also wrap tape around your hand and run the surface, but that’s going to use a whole bunch of tape.

We all know that sometimes our dogs tend to smell a little less than fresh. If your dog always finds the mud puddle at the dog park or sneaks in a surprise, there’s a few things you can do to keep your vehicle smelling fresh. If your dog has become muddy, rinse your dog off before he jumps in the car. Be sure your pooch is dry though. Don’t want that wet dog smell to add to the problem. When you get home, be sure to vacuum out the interior of your vehicle and remove any excess debris Fido may have left behind. If there’s still smell, place a box of baking soda in your vehicle just like you use in your refrigerator.

Removing Spots

No, we didn’t say remove Spot. We said remove spots, with a damp cloth that is! Some dogs get super excited when they know they are taking a car ride. They tend to turn into little four-legged drool machines! We know they are just happy and having fun,m but cleaning drool off the interior of a vehicle isn’t very happy nor is it fun. But, a damp cloth or even a wipe specially made for interior automotive surfaces can be a life saver! You also might want to check along the sides of your vehicle because there might just be some happy drool on the outside too. A quick spray with the hose should take care of that problem.
