Road Trip Tips to Keep Your Car Clean!

Keeping your vehicle on a road trip can be a daunting task. There’s always fast food bags, drink bottles and that random smell that you just can’t place. Did something roll under the seat perhaps? It might be a while before you can stop and find out, so here are a few tips to help you keep your car clean while on a road trip.

Stomp Your Feet

First of all, before you even get in the car, knock the dirt off your feet! That is one simple way to keep extra dirt and mess off the floor of your vehicle.

 

 

Grab Bags

Take advantage of those plastic grocery bags that end up accumulating in your kitchen. Grab a handful before you hit the road and use them as trash bags in your car. They are a very convenient size for a car too.

 

 

Dump the Trash

When you stop for fuel, take a few minutes to clean out your car. Dump those trash bags, drink cups or bottles, food containers etc. If you smoke in your car, don’t forget to dump the ashtray as well. You’ll be happy you did!

 

 

Save Your Receipts

Keep all of your receipts in one place such as an envelope in your glove box. This is especially helpful if you need to keep your receipts for work or business expenses. If you are able to be reimbursed for those expenses, you’ll need those receipts!

 

Stay Organized

If you’re traveling with kids, the backseat can become unorganized quickly. Keep the kids happy and the backseat clean by organizing travel games, books, or toys for the kids in one container. You can also use one of those nifty see-though organizers that hang on the back of the front seats!

 

 

 

Avoid Drive-Thru Restaurants

One of the best ways to keep your car is to simply not eat in the car. You’ll avoid dropped food, spilled drinks and a ton of trash if you avoid the drive-thrus. It’s also nice to stop and stretch your legs for a bit. Walking into a restaurant is always a nice option.

 

 

 

Fresh Air

If you’re going on a long road trip, it’s also nice to keep your car smelling fresh. Use a car-size air freshener spray or handy-dandy odor neutralizers you can stick in the air vents or rear window. There will come a time when you’re glad you remembered!

 

 

 

When You Get Home
